  • A Settlement has been reached with Classic Residence Management Limited Partnership, which does business as Vi (“Vi” or “Defendant”), in a class action lawsuit concerning the unauthorized access to Defendant’s computer systems that occurred on or about March 13, 2023 (the “Data Breach”), in which certain files that contained sensitive and/or personal information were accessed. The information included, depending on the individual, names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, payment card numbers, medical treatment information, and/or health information.

  • The lawsuit is captioned Givony et al. v. Classic Residence Management Limited Partnership d/b/a Vi, Case No. 2024CH05037, currently pending in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, County Department, Chancery Division (the “Action”).

  • Vi denies each and all of the claims and contentions alleged against it in the Action and denies all charges of wrongdoing or liability alleged (or which could be alleged) in the Action, but has agreed to a settlement to avoid the costs and risks associated with continuing the litigation.

  • You are included in the Settlement Class if you were impacted by the Data Breach. You may have already been notified of the Data Breach directly by Vi.

  • Your rights are affected whether you act or don’t act. Please read the Notice carefully and completely.

    Submit a Claim

    The only way to receive benefits from this Settlement is by submitting a valid and timely Claim Form.


    You can submit your Claim Form here or download the Claim Form here and mail it to the Settlement Administrator. You may also call or email the Settlement Administrator to receive a paper copy of the Claim Form.

    February 3, 2025

    Opt Out of the Settlement

    You can choose to opt out of the Settlement and receive no payment. This option allows you to sue, continue to sue, or be part of another lawsuit against the Defendant related to the legal claims resolved by this Settlement. You can hire your own legal counsel at your own expense.

    January 3, 2025

    Object to the Settlement and/or Attend a Hearing

    If you do not opt out of the Settlement, you may object to it by writing to the Court about why you don’t like the Settlement. You may also ask the Court for permission to speak about your objection at the Final Approval Hearing. If you object, you may also file a claim for Settlement benefits.

    January 3, 2025

    Do Nothing

    Unless you opt out of the settlement, you are automatically part of the Settlement. If you do nothing, you will not receive benefits from this Settlement and you will give up the right to sue, continue to sue, or be part of another lawsuit against the Defendant related to the legal claims resolved by this Settlement.
